ITEC
We recently had the incredible opportunity to partner with ITEC to host a training for indigenous pastors. ITEC’s mission is: “Equipping indigenous Christ-followers for meaningful participation in His Great Commission.” What a privilege it was to be part of investing in leaders who are faithfully bringing the Gospel into remote and often unreached communities!
Before the team arrived, we reached out to local pastors and asked what types of training would be most helpful as they minister in their communities. They responded that they wanted training in farming and social media.
How do farming and social media training help spread the Gospel? We are so glad you asked!
• Social media can clearly be used as a platform for sharing Jesus. It is also a valuable skill that pastors can bring back to their communities, helping them build relationships and opening doors to share the Gospel.
• In the same way, farming techniques, such as learning better methods for fertilizer, composting, and irrigation, help pastors serve and connect with those around them. Through these trainings, we are also demonstrating that we serve a compassionate God who cares deeply for His people and desires for them to be provided for and nourished. As these pastors bring what they have learned back to their villages, they reflect the image of a God who loves generously and freely. They demonstrate Christ’s love by helping others and modeling what it means to follow Him.
Please pray that the leaders in these communities would use this training to bring much glory to the Lord and lead many people to the throne room of grace.
