Ripe for the Harvest

Here at UIM Aviation our heart mission is to use the talents and resources that God has given us for the intentional work of furthering the gospel.

We spend a lot of time on our knees individually and as a team to ask our Heavenly Father for the wisdom to be able to most effectively carry out the Great Commission. We believe that this is not only our job as full-time foreign missionaries, but as Christians. No matter who we are, or where God has us in life, we are not exempt from this responsibility! 2 Corinthians 5:18 says that God reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. (I encourage you to read that whole chapter)

This is a huge job!

That is why we spend so much time in prayer for wisdom! We also know that there is a battalion of prayer warriors who are right there with us! This is such a comfort and encouragement to us on the mission field. We often come across difficulties in our work here, and each time that we get the word out and ask you all to pray for a situation, we see God move in a mighty way!

Lately our team down here at the Tepic base has been praying that God would show us new opportunities for ministry in new areas. We have been blessed to watch God work in our area and are thrilled to see our indigenous brothers and sisters taking the Great Commission very seriously. The gospel has caught like wildfire and in the places that we normally work the church is thriving!

In the past few months we have seen God answer our prayer for new areas to open. He has brought us new contacts who are as excited as we are to reach some villages that are still largely lost in darkness. One of these contacts is a Mexican national who has spent more than 20 years traveling around visiting remote mountain villages sharing the gospel. He told us about several villages that have a few believers that live out their faith largely in secret to avoid persecution. They don’t have a church, and don’t meet openly.

Right now, we are formulating a plan to visit these new-to-us villages and try and obtain permission to bring dental, medical, and vision services to help the people. We believe this would be a big encouragement to the believers there, and hopefully present opportunities to share the love of Christ with those who haven’t heard.

Many of you may have read the recent article titled “Permission Granted, The Flight We Never Expected”.  We anticipate that some of this new outreach would look similar to that. 1–2-day introductory clinics that can make a big impact.

Who knows where it can go from there?

This is where YOU come in!

This is a call to prayer! Please pray for God to direct us in all the things that have to come together for this.

We must:

● coordinate flights

● meet with village authorities

● arrange medical personnel

● organize materials and supplies

● plan strategies for supporting/encouraging the local believers

● obtain and prepare materials for sharing the gospel in an effective way.

This list barely scratches the surface of what you can pray for! But we trust the Holy Spirit to lead you in how to pray, and God is omniscient!

James 5:16b says, …The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Thank you for being a part of our team! We are excited to see what God is going to do, and we look forward to sharing updates with you all along the way!
