52Q Returns to Mexico
We have exciting news about our long awaited remodel on 52Q!
First, a little background so you can get a glimpse of how far this plane has come! About 8 years ago, 52Q had a hard landing incident at an airstrip in Mexico. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but it impacted our ministry because we were now one plane short which made it difficult on our diligent pilots who are constantly answering calls to those in need. This particular airstrip was way up in the mountains which meant a major undertaking to collect, disassemble, and transport the plane back up to Tucson. Thus, began the meticulous process of awaiting funds to purchase the needed replacement parts, and finding time to work on it with an already busy schedule at the hangar.
Fast-forward a good amount of years, countless hours of work thanks to our skilled mechanics, and a numerous donations from our gracious donors and 52Q is up and running!
To commemorate this auspicious event, our aviation team, along with UIM Director Dan and Julie Fredricks, prayed over the new journey that 52Q will embark upon.
And we are now happy to say, 52Q has returned safely to Mexico! There, we pray it will continue to serve the people for many years to come! We anticipate many flights to serve church planters and Bible translators. Also, we will have one more plane available for medical emergencies. That is why our team works so hard at completing these laborious tasks. At times it may seem like we’re face to face with a mountain of work, but in the end, knowing these planes are used to share the love of our Savior, makes it all worth it.
On behalf of our aviation team, we want to thank you all who have prayed and who have helped financially to see that the work in Mexico can continue to the glory of God.
