Meet Refugio

Refugio has been the pastor of a small Huichol church for as long as we have known him. His church, La Bendicion (meaning The Blessing), was established many years ago when Huichol believers fled their original village because of persecution.

The church has taken leading others to Christ seriously and has been a dramatic influence in the lives of other Huichol people. Over the years we have flown many sick and injured people from the isolated villages into Tepic for medical care. Usually, these sick people will go spend time with the people in the church, which is only a 30 minute drive from Tepic, as they receive medical care or wait to return to their village. This church has been instrumental in showing the love of Christ to these unbelievers, resulting in many coming to trust Christ as their Savior.

We thank the Lord for Refugio and his willingness to lead these believers through faith, sacrifice, and example. Please continue to pray for Refugio and his congregation as they follow Christ and reach out to others.

Refugio and many other indigenous pastors whom we fly for have no way of paying for those flights. Give to the Flight Fund to support these pastors, church planters, and Bible translators in Mexico. It costs $300 for one hour of flight time in our Cessna 206. We rely on donations to provide 100% subsidized flights to the national workers we serve.
